3rd Annual TNG (The Neighbourhood Group) Challenge
Moving in support of seniors

On Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 4:00 pm, TNG Community Services will be at it again, on the move in support of our vital Seniors programs and services.

Our virtual move-a-thon raises funds to ensure seniors receive food and safe housing, help with personal care, medications, shopping and meal preparation, check-in calls, and most importantly, a lifeline to our caring team of staff and volunteers. Those dedicated staff and volunteers – individually and in teams – will be jumping rope, taking walks with family, friends and pets, jogging around the block, doing yoga, playing catch, doing sit-ups or push-ups … and more!

Thank you to everyone who is participating and to those who have donated. Together, we’ve raised an amazing $63,800 and the number continues to climb! And with the generous matching donation of $50,000 from Sonia Yung, The Neighbourhood Group Board Member, this puts our total at $113,800. All in support of isolated, frail seniors during this global pandemic and beyond. The funds we raise will support our vital seniors’ programs including Supportive Housing/Assisted Living and Community Personal Support Workers program, Meal on Wheels, Case Management, Food Hamper delivery, check-in calls and most importantly, a lifeline to our caring team of staff and volunteers.

Now more than ever, we need you!

The Neighbourhood Group Commitment

We are committed to helping those most vulnerable in our communities with the help of our amazing staff, volunteers and supporters.

During these challenging times, The Neighbourhood Group staff and volunteers are continuing to provide care and support to frail, isolated seniors. Our Personal Support Workers work tirelessly providing personal care, medication monitoring, cleaning, shopping and meal preparation to seniors in our Supportive Housing locations and in the community. Our Meals on Wheels staff and dedicated team of volunteers are delivering hot and frozen meals to seniors’ homes. And we are operating a food delivery hub where food hampers are packed and delivered to seniors living in rooming houses and subsidized housing.
